SmallBasic Projects

SmallBasic is a fairly new programming languge from Microsoft. It has some interesting features and lends itself well to game development. I used the language as one of the topics when I taught high school level computer programming. You can see the lessons I used in my teaching here on the Computer Programming 1 page.

I placed a few programs I've written in SmallBasic below. Please note that the executables are buggy. I suggest downloading and installing SmallBasic from here, and then downloading the .zip version of my programs. The .zip version has all the files used to create the program including the graphic files.

SmallBasic - Connect 4

Similar to tic-tac-toe, in this game you connect 4 of your pieces vertically, horizontally, or either diagonal before your opponet does the same. This is a 2 player game.

Download the SmallBasic library first if you are going to download the executable. Place both in the same folder.

SmallBasic Library (.dll)
Executable(.exe)
Source (.sb)
Source (.txt)

Complete files (.zip)

It is also published on the SmallBasic site here: Connect 4

SmallBasic - Radio Blaster

My take on Space Invaders. You move an old time radio across the bottom of the screen and shoot missiles (radio towers) and the televisions dropping down from the top of the screen.

Download the SmallBasic library first if you are going to download the executable. Place both in the same folder.

SmallBasic Library (.dll)
