Precisionist Series

Begun in the early 20th-century, the artists in this American movement utilized architecture and industrial subject matter along with a slight reference to Cubism to celebrate the fast-changing world in which they lived. I am currently using the works of Charles Demuth and Charles Sheeler as my inspiration. With Precisionism, emphasis is given to the geometric shapes found in the composition and the use of diagonal lines to break up or fracture the work, usually referencing the source of light.
